Lesbian Film Club Sydney is a not-for-profit social club that was founded in 2025. It provides a safe space for lesbians, queer women and anyone who falls under the FLINTA umbrella to gather, watch and discuss film.

The club hosts film screenings, casual hangout events, trivia nights and a variety of other social events. We strongly believe in the importance of lesbian spaces, and strive to make our events as accessible as possible.

Whether you’re a lesbian whose a self-identified cinephile or someone who only clocks in one film a year, you’re welcome here!

Tiana Lynch is the founder and director of the club. She created the club out of a burning desire to discuss film with people in person, after becoming obsessed with film in early 2025. She’s passionate about building community amongst lesbians, the magical girl / mahou shoujo subgenre, her dog and everything in between.

“After finding Lesbian Film Club Sydney on Instagram I attended my first screening solo. Instantly, I was met with friendliness, kindness and community. I immediately felt like I belonged. I now love attending Lesbian Film Club events solo and have made lots of friends, connecting with other attendees who have shared their cultures, stories and experiences through the medium of watching films together and discussion.”

“I f***ing love film! I go to the cinema at least three times a week on my own. Being able to bond with other baddie lesbian cinephiles has been a dream.”

“I am two years sober from alcohol, and don’t like to go to bars or clubs. Unfortunately, a lot of queer events are focused around drinking and partying, which makes me uncomfortable and limited my ability to make other queer friends. I found out about Lesbian Film Club Sydney through Instagram, and was delighted when I attended for the first time and felt so comfortable. I’ve now made two friends from film club who are also sober, and we’ve bonded over shared interests. ”

“The club has created such a safe and friendly space where we can mingle and enjoy great films together!”

“I attended the Performative Masc Lesbian Contest and a film screening on my own and had the most wonderful time. Everyone was so lovely and friendly, and Tiana made sure that everything was organised and everyone felt comfortable. At that screening I met my now girlfriend, so I can’t thank the club enough.”
