Lesbian Film Club Sydney events are designed for lesbians, sapphics and those who fall under the FLINTA (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender) umbrella.
We do appreciate the support of people who do not identify as lesbian, sapphic or FLINTA. However, there is a severe lack of safe spaces for our lesbian community to gather, so we do our best to ensure our events are exclusive for our community.

No! We watch films from all genres that feature stories from all walks of life. From new releases like Sinners (2025), to older films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), we try to cover a wide range of films that will generate the most discussion from our attendees. That being said, where possible, we try to spotlight lesbian and queer films.

Yes! We welcome people on their own all the time. Usually before our film screening events, we will gather somewhere to mingle and chat. This provides everyone an opportunity to get comfortable and make friends. You can read some insights from our attendees who have come on their own on our Home page.

Your donation will be put towards a variety of purposes to support the club, including but not limited to:
Equipment and venue hiring fees
Marketing costs - including maintaining this website, paying creatives and vendors for their services
Moving towards hosting our own independent film screenings - less crowded cinemas, more cosy and intimate spaces
In the event we do not use your donation for any of the above purposes, it will be redistributed to a charity that aligns with our values.
